Qualifications & Experience

1. Principal Meteorologist – Weather Forecasting Services

  • Applicants should be Ugandans holding; EITHER (i) An Honors Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology; or Atmospheric Science plus a Masters Degree in Meteorology; or Atmospheric Sciences from a recognized University/Institution. OR (i) An Honors Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics; or Mathematics; or Statistics; or Hydrology; or Computer Science; or Agriculture
  • APost-Graduate Diploma in Meteorology from a recognized University/Institution.
  • A Masters Degree in Meteorology; or Atmospheric Sciences from a recognized University/ Institution.
  • Applicants should have a minimum of six (6) years relevant working experience, three (3) of which should have been served at the level of Senior Meteorologist in Government.

2. Senior Meteorologist – Weather Forecasting Services

  • Applicants should be Ugandans holding; EITHER (i) An Honors Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology; or Atmospheric Science from a recognized University/Institution.
  • A Post Graduate Qualification will be an added advantage. OR (i) An Honors Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics; or Mathematics; or Statistics; or Hydrology; or Computer Science; or Agriculture
  • A Post-Graduate Diploma in Meteorology from a recognized University/ Institution.
  • Applicants should have a minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience at the level of Meteorologist in Government of from a reputable Organization.

3. Meteorologist (Weather Analyst)

  • Applicants should be Ugandans
  • An Honors Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology; or Atmospheric Science from a recognized University/Institution. OR (i) An Honors Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics; or Mathematics; or Statistics; or Hydrology; or Computer Science; or Agriculture
  • Post-Graduate Diploma in Meteorology from a recognized University/Institution.

4. Meteorologist (Briefing Officer)

  • Applicants should be Ugandans
  • An Honors Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology; or Atmospheric Science from a recognized University/Institution. OR An Honors Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics; or Mathematics; or Statistics; or Hydrology; or Computer Science; or Agriculture
  • Post-Graduate Diploma in Meteorology from a recognized University/Institution.

5. Meteorologist (Weather Observer)

  • Applicants should be Ugandans holding a Diploma in Meteorology or Agrometeorology from a recognized Institution.

6. Technician

  • Applicants should be Ugandans holding a Diploma in Telecommunications; or Electrical Engineering; or Electronic and Mechanical Engineering; or Computer Science; or ICT; or Radio; or Television and Electronics Technician (RTET) part I and part II from a recognized Institution.
