Duties and responsibilities at the position of Principal Human Resource Management Officer at KENIA entails the following:
- Providing input in the development of the human resource strategies, policies, and procedures;
- Verifying and consolidating information for payroll processing;
- Undertaking training needs analysis, projections and to inform on the training programmes;
- Providing secretarial services to the Management Advisory Committee;
- Ensuring maintenance of Human Resource records in an accurate and timely manner;
- Implementing human resource management decisions within existing rules, regulations and procedures;
- Managing the payroll;
- Preparing and compiling reports on the implementation of the performance management systems including performance appraisal; and
- Updating records of staff training and development programs.
Requirements
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have;
- Served for a cumulative period of nine (9) years’ work experience three (3) years should have been in the grade of Senior Human Resource Management Officer or in a comparable position in the Public Service or Private Sector.
- Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
OR
- Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: – Economics, Sociology, Business Administration, Public Administration, Commerce Plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management/Development or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
- Been registered by the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM);
- Management Course from a recognized Institution; and
- Proficiency in computer applications.
