Qualifications, Requirements, Experience, and Skills

1. Financial Accountant

Education

  • BCom/BBA/BSc (Accounting/Finance option) or its equivalent from a reputable university.
  • Full member of a Professional Accountancy Body (ACCA/CPA, U) is a requirement

Experience

  • At least three (3) years of hands-on working experience gained while serving with a reputable public, commercial, or donor-funded organisation, one of which must have been acquired in a similar role.

Technical Expertise

  • Excellent spreadsheet skills Critical thinking skills Computerized accounting packages.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent report writing skills.

2. Planning Officer 

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies, or Social Sciences, or Social Work and Social Administration, or Statistics, or Economics, or Development Planning, or related area.

Experience

  • A minimum of three (3) years working experience in a related role related to policy, planning and evaluation in a busy organization.

Technical Expertise

  • Excellent knowledge of evaluation techniques and mechanisms.
  • Must have a solid understanding of policy and planning in public sector.
  • Knowledgeable about the Monitoring and Evaluation requirements in public sector
  • Excellent computer skills.

Nature and Scope

  • Able to prioritize and co-ordinate work streams/projects to drive delivery of tasks.
  • A resilient team player with a ‘can do’ attitude, who is willing to take responsibility leading and working with others to create breakthrough solutions to complex problems.

3. International Engagement Officer

Education

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field from a recognized university is required.
  • Training or certification in International Relations, Diplomacy, Stakeholder Management, Change Management or Project Management is an added advantage.

Experience

  • At least three years of active experience in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Stakeholder Management, Change Management, or related areas.

4. Internal Auditor

Qualifications

  • BCom/BBA/BSc (Auditing or Accounting Major) or their equivalent from a recognized University
  • Full membership of an internationally recognized professional accounting or auditing body (CIA, ACCA, CPA, CA, etc.) is an added advantage;
  • A postgraduate qualification in a relevant field is an added advantage.

Experience

  • At least three (3) years in an internal audit function specializing in business process assurance with a reputable audit firm or performing a similar role in a reputable private or public organisation.
  • Previous experience in the use of CAATs
  • Prior exposure and experience in industry auditing or accounting, and in supervising and conducting audits in Information Systems and other areas pertinent to the industry.
  • Strong experience in participating in business risk assessments as well as development and execution of audit plans.
  • Training in internal audit, fraud management, business risk management, internal controls, revenue assurance/protection
  • Working knowledge of internal auditing (auditing techniques and standards), accounting principles and practices, and management principles and preferred business practices.

Technical Expertise

  • Computer skills (Office-based applications)
  • Practical knowledge of auditing computer-aided applications
  • Excellent auditing and forensic investigation skills
  • Excellent grasp of modern risk management frameworks

5. Research and Innovations Officer

Education

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Social Sciences, or a related field from a recognised institution.
  • A Postgraduate qualification and/or professional certification in statistics, data science, research methods, or a related discipline is an added advantage.
  • Membership of the Uganda Statistical Society or a comparable professional body is an added advantage.

Experience

  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant working experience in statistical analysis, policy research, data management, or a related function in a reputable public or private sector organisation.

Technical Expertise

  • Proficient in analytical thinking and problem-solving in social, technical, and policy research contexts.
  • Skilled in using statistical software tools (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R, Python) and data visualisation applications (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) for data analysis, modelling, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of research design methodologies, including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods approaches.
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities, with experience engaging both internal and external partners to align research outputs with organisational objectives.
  • Excellent documentation and report-writing skills, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and strategic relevance of outputs.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Organised and methodical approach to tasks, with strong project management and delivery skills.
  • Proficiency in using various research, statisticData Protection Officeral, and data management systems and applications.

6. Data Protection Officer

Education

  • A Bachelor of Information Technology, Computer Science degree, or related area from a recognized university is required;
  • CISA or CISM is a requirement;
  • An internationally recognized Data Protection and Privacy certification is an added advantage.

Experience

  • A minimum of four (4) years of working experience in a compliance, risk, or auditing role in a reputable public or private organization.

Technical Expertise

  • Knowledgeable about Cyber and Data Protection and Privacy laws
  • Familiarity with audit management tools and data analytics techniques
  • Working understanding of Information Security controls.
  • Able to prioritize and coordinate work streams/projects to drive the delivery of tasks.
  • A resilient team player with a ‘can do’ attitude, who is willing to take responsibility, lead, and work with others to create breakthrough solutions to complex problems.
